All-on-4® Implants Post-Op Instructions

All-on-4® Implant Recovery

After receiving All-on-4 implant-supported dentures, there are several things that you need to do to ensure that you can enjoy the benefits of your renewed smile. We will provide you with post-op instructions to help you heal and recover so that you can return to your regular daily activities.

Here are a few things you should do after receiving All-on-4 implant-supported dentures:

1. Clean your teeth and mouth with a Waterpik and gentle brushing.
Oral hygiene is crucial to the success of your All-on-4 implants. Clean gently but thoroughly after each meal starting from the day after surgery. It is highly recommended that you use a Waterpik as it can irrigate beneath the denture to flush out any debris.

2. Watch your bite.
If your bite is heavy in one area, it may be a sign of problems. Please contact our office and make an appointment with our dentist.

3. Eat a soft diet.
For the first six weeks after surgery, chew only very soft foods. Some soft foods you may consider include Jell-O, pudding, yogurt, ice cream, smoothies, protein shakes, milkshakes, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, soups, mashed potatoes, cottage cheese, applesauce, and pancakes.

4. Avoid exercise for the first 48 hours after treatment.
Rest and avoid physical activity for two days. After the first 48 hours, you may resume your regular activities as you can tolerate them.

If you have any concerns or questions during your recovery period, please contact our office. We are here to help you and will be happy to schedule follow-up visits with our dentist.
